Defendec's main product, Smartdec, is securing NATO’s and European Union's external borders. It is currently operational worldwide. Smartdec helps stop international smuggling, illegal trafficking, and acts of sabotage every day making it the technology of choice among border guards.
The company has developed a new type of wireless sensor networking protocol; a patent is pending on the technology.
Defendec's experienced team has developed a low-power routing mechanism and communication protocol for wireless sensor networks that enables it to create large cost-effective and energy efficient perimeter monitoring systems.
Defendec actively participates in European research projects. In cooperation with the European Border Guards and Frontex, Defendec is developing the embedded software for TALOS, a European Union next generation land border surveillance system. TALOS is a pan-European research project co-funded by the European Commission.
